High school is a huge deal for most people. It’s usually because it contains a lot of firsts. First car, first love, first kiss, first time you had sex. Sex. If you’re in high school then that’s the ugly, awkward, “cool” word. It entails so much pressure and sometimes it can dictate how people look at you. Whether you’re a virgin or a whore or you’re gross or you’re a slut. It’s the word on everyone’s minds. In high school, I slept with my cousins boyfriend. He was 24 at the time and I was 12. I was messed up and at the time I didn’t really think about it, it didn’t have an impact. But as I’ve grown up I’ve come to the realisation that it’s not just sex. It dictates who you were and who you’ve become. People judge you based on who you are, what you wear or who you’ve had sex with. They shouldn’t, but they do.
